The amazing folks at The Botanist Gin hosted a delightfully foraged dinner for local Dallas Influencers a few weeks ago, and it was an amazing experience that began as soon as we walked through the front door.

Guests were warmly greeted by 3 specialty cocktails designed specifically for the event along with yummy appetizers. The Botanist Gin is carefully infused liquor with foraged botanicals found in its native area of origin, Islay, Scotland-an honest and authentic representation of its Scottish island home.

We were then treated to our very own mixology class and had the opportunity to make The Red Lady (see recipe below):

Next up was a wonderful coursed dinner with cocktail pairings courtesy of The Botanist. All the amazing food we had during the evening was at the hands of the 2016 Dallas Chef of the Year, Misti Norris.

Candy Apple

Ingredients: The Botanist Gin 1.5 oz., Apple Cider .75 oz., Monin Caramel Syrup .75 oz., Fresh Lemon Juice .75 oz., Fresh bay leaf for garnish

Directions:

  1. In shaker, add all ingredients with ice
  2. Shake and strain into chilled coup glass
  3. Garnish with fresh bay leaf

 

Holly Down

Ingredients: The Botanist Gin 1.5 oz., Fresh Pressed Apple Juice 1 oz., Fresh Basil Leaves 3-4, Fresh Lime Juice 1 oz., Simple Syrup .5 oz., Orange Bitters 1 dash, Soda water, Apple and Fresh Basil Leaf for garnish

Directions:

  1. In shaker, add all ingredients with ice
  2. Shake and strain into a highball glass with ice
  3. Top with a splash of soda water
  4. Garnish with an apple fan and fresh basil

 

Roast Sazerac

Ingredients: The Botanist Gin 1.5 oz., Mount Gay Rum Black Barrel .5 oz., Maple Syrup .25oz., Peychaud’s Bitters 2 dashes, Orange Bitters 1 dash, Orange twist for garnish

Directions:

  1. In mixing glass, stir all ingredients with large ice cubes
  2. Strain into empty, chilled rocks glass
  3. Garnish with an orange twist

 

Tiki Santa Sleigh

Ingredients: The Botanist Gin 1.5 oz., Pineapple Juice 1 oz., Fresh Lime Juice .75 oz., Simple Syrup .5 oz., Cointreau .5 oz., Maple Syrup .25 oz., Mount Gay Rum Black Barrell .25 oz., Angostura Bitters 5 dashes, Apple, Cinnamon Stick and Mint for garnish

Directions:

  1. In shaker, add all ingredients with ice
  2. Shake and strain into highball or Tiki glass
  3. Garnish with apple fan, cinnamon stick and mint sprig

 

Northern Lights

Ingredients: The Botanist Gin 1.5 oz., Fresh Lemon Juice .75 oz., Simple Syrup .75 oz., Fresh Pink Grapefruit .5 oz., Fresh Basil 2 leaves

Directions

  1. In shaker, add all ingredients with ice
  2. Shake and double strain into coupe or martini glass
  3. Garnish with fresh basil leaf
