For you seafood lovers out there, Shell Shack has what you need to satisfy your craving. You can get a feast whether you’re hungry for crab legs or a catfish basket!

We visited the Plano location which has a casual sports bar environment that also serves specialty drinks and desserts. With their thriving DFW locations, they plan to expand into nearby states in big cities such as Oklahoma City, Denver, Phoenix and Atlanta.

The Fried

You can’t go wrong with anything under “The Fried” section, especially for an appetizer.  The generous portion of calamari is served with tartar sauce made in house and tangy cocktail sauce. The crispy coating doesn’t fall off like other places we’ve tried and the tartar sauce is pleasantly different with a tolerable kick of spice.

Fried Calamari

The hushpuppies and fries are worth a thumbs up as well. The fries are seasoned but great to dip in any of their sauces.

(Psst, we noticed they have crab tator tots and that sounds like a tasty treat to try.)

Food is great and all but a platter of FRIED food is fantastic!  “The Boss” came with a couple of fried catfish filets and fried shrimp. We tried 1/2 the shrimp tossed in Buffalo sauce. So good but so spicy! A great idea to share if you can’t decide what you’re in the mood for but you want it fried.

The Shucked

Some of the biggest and freshest oysters on a half shell we’ve had. They’re huge!

The Boil

There are plenty of options under “The Boil” section of the menu. We opted for a mix of Bairdi Crab and King Crab legs with the mild garlic sauce. The sauce options are cajun, garlic, lemon pepper, kitchen sink or naked, if you prefer. Get the heat just the way you like it from Mild to Diablo. (Eek!) The kitchen sink is a customer favorite but we really enjoyed the garlic sauce. You can order sides such as red potatoes, corn, sausage and even broccoli with one of their delicious sauces on them as well.

After looking around, we realized that most tables during the lunch rush were sharing crab legs. It seems to be a popular choice!

So roll your sleeves up and treat yourself to a crab feast folks!

Yes, I take photos with my iPhone of the food I'm about to shove into my mouth whether it's at a restaurant or a homecooked meal. And yes, I share those photos on Facebook. I think people that get annoyed by that are just jealous. That is all.
