East Hampton Sandwich Co., a new restaurant specializing in handcrafted sandwiches with proteins and sauces made in-house, will open its first location this Wednesday, September 12th in Snider Plaza. East Hampton delivers its menu in a carefully designed yet relaxed, casual environment providing a quick dining experience.
Menu highlights range from an authentic Lobster Roll, a Hot Cheese & Short Rib, Roast Beef & Spinach sandwich to vegetarian options like the Asparagus & Gruyere or the Goat Cheese & Avocado sandwich. For those looking for a lighter lunch option, the Harvest Greens menu item is any sandwich combination served on a bed of Spinach, Italian Mix or Romaine. East Hampton will also serve beer and wine making this an ideal neighborhood destination restaurant.
Owner Hunter Pond explains, “I wanted to create a fast-casual restaurant where I could serve elevated sandwiches using the finest ingredients in a stylish, comfortable atmosphere. “ East Hampton chefs will brine their hormone/nitrate free meats for 24-hours before hand-carving to order. The salad dressings, seasonal soups, sides, desserts and sandwich sauces will all be made in-house as well. Pond continues, “We are using the freshest and highest quality local vegetables available and Empire Baking Co. will bake a special bread each day for our sandwiches.â€
Pond hired Alex Urrunaga, of famed restaurant design firm Plan B Group, to design the interior. Pond wanted to bring the food element and design element together in a way that made sense for his vision. Urrunaga explains, “The design of the restaurant was based on a traditional beach home. Most of the living is done in the kitchen when people entertain, so when you walk into East Hampton, it’s a clean space that resembles a large residential kitchen. You feel like you are sitting in your friend or neighbors welcoming home.†Urrunaga used a modern color pallet of yellows, grays and whites. He also used a large amount of shiplap interior to evoke a semi-country feel with red accents to create even more interest within the space.
