Sports bar for date night? Before you groan a resounding, “No Way,†take a look at the gorgeous new Shakertins location in the Shops at Legacy in Plano! Their insta-worthy interior and super sippable cocktails will have you saying, “Yes, please†instead.
Shakertins was named after – you guessed it – cocktail shakers, and that’s apropos, because craft cocktails are the star of the show at this gem. We started our evening with the perfect French Kiss. No, I mean the cocktail.
The drink slingers at Shakertins were kind enough to share the recipe for this delectable treat, and we’ll share it with you below.
But this new Plano outpost is much more than a cocktail joint. In keeping with their sports bar reputation, they have dozens of TVs and three full-sized billiards tables. However, the sports bar comparison changes here. They have one of Plano’s prettiest patios plus two glassed garage doors to bring in this beautiful weather we’ve been enjoying. The pool room is backed with a boxwood wall that screams selfie, and the bookable private room in the back is resplendent with a romantic dark floral wallpaper to die for.
We started our evening with their house-made spinach artichoke dip. It is super creamy and flavorful. Insider tip – ask for some toasted bread to accompany the traditional corn chip. It makes the dip feel that much more special.
And don’t overlook the pizzas. They are THAT good. The hand tossed crust is the perfect blend of crispy and chewy, and it was really flavorful. That body and flavor was a great base for a variety of toppings. I loved the OG Pepperoni, and our dining companions were jazzed about the Chicken Bacon Ranch. Next time we’ll try the Anger Porker New Yorker. It features angry sauce base, spicy Italian sausage, bacon, jalapeños, mozz, pepperoni, and parmesan confetti.

Now, I promised you the perfect date night starter cocktail, and here it is!
French Kiss
In a chilled champagne flute, add:
1 oz. Zephyr gin (love a local product!)
.75 oz lemon juice
.5 oz simple syrup
.5 oz lavender syrup
Top with champagne and garnish with a Luxardo cherry.
