Located in Plano, Kenny’s Smokehouse offers a Southern fare and is known for its top-notch barbecue and craft cocktails. The rustic family-friendly restaurant has an incredibly personable staff that presents quality Southern hospitality. From generous appetizers to quality BBQ, you’ll find some of the best food in North Dallas.
All of Kenny’s restaurants offer a number of hand-crafted cocktails, a selection of martinis and lots of options for wine and beer. Here are some of my favorite drinks at the Smokehouse:
Kentucky Mule: Makers Mark bourbon, mint, lime juice, ginger beer
Homage to “Samâ€: Kenny’s personal selected Knob Creek nine-year bourbon, lemon, honey and ginger beer
Strawberry Wine: Grey Goose Vodka, St. Germaine, strawberries and bubbles
Whether you’re a first timer at the Smokehouse (like me) or a repeat customer, the appetizers are not to miss. These starters are sharable and packed with lots of tasty meat. Some of the options to try out include:
Smoked Brisket Stuffed Jalapenos: Vermont cheddar, chipotle bbq ranch
Coconut Shrimp: Sweet Thai chili, wasabi aioli, raspberry chipotle sauce
Pulled Pork Tostadas: Buds white queso, cheddar, pico, smokey bbq ranch
Ahi Tuna Nachos: Rare, crispy wonton, wasabi aioli, sweet soy
You’ll find the traditional sides to add to your entrees, as well as the restaurant’s other popular options. I definitely recommend the Smoked Gouda Mac n Cheese with ham and white truffle oil. The Loaded Mashed Potatoes with smoked bacon is another great option as well, if you have room for it!
Guests can enjoy a variety of traditional and unique Southern dishes including beef ribs, pulled pork, smoked brisket, hearty burgers, salmon and fish entrees, large sandwiches and salads. The barbecue, non-barbecue and sandwiches come with one side of your choice. Don’t hesitate to modify an entrée either. Kenny’s will get you taken care of!
