Another fabulous restaurant has opened at The Star in Frisco. For Southern comfort food, visit Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar. The restaurant brings its iconic scratch-made Carolina-inspired cuisine to Texas.

As the largest Tupelo Honey location, the Frisco restaurant features an indoor and outdoor bar and two private dining spaces, ideal for meetings, events and group dinners. The expansive indoor bar features communal tables, numerous big screen TVs, and an actual Jumbotron ideal for the Cowboys viewing parties Tupelo Honey plans to host regularly. The large outdoor bar features ample seating and a covered patio.
Inside the restaurant, a charcuterie and shellfish bar features fresh seafood daily and a wide selection of the Souths best charcuterie paired with high-quality cheeses, including cheese from Texas Cypress Grove Dairy.

Featured items

Tupelo Honey serves up a seasonally-rotated menu and is open for lunch and winner, as well as weekend brunch. Guests visiting the Frisco location will see a mix of traditional and revitalized Southern dishes like Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (a half-bird, brined and fried and sprinkled with signature bee dust), Tex-Mex inspired offerings such as Huevos Rancheros, and an extensive steak program of 100% Texas beef featuring Akashi (essentially American Wagyu) and Certified Black Angus.

Drinks

With a variety of craft cocktails, local beers and a large wine list, Tupelo Honey is a great spot for drinks in addition to their tasty Appalachian menu. Fun fact — don’t miss their 75-cent martinis during weekday lunch!
Rejoice over brunch drinks! Enjoy a refreshing Peach Bellini (left) or a signature Tupelo Bloody Mary (right), among others like the Tupelo Honey Mimosa and the 10oz. Mega-Mosa. If you’re looking for a coffee with your breakfast, you can’t go wrong with the double shot Espresso and Macchiato.

Grub

Take a look at a few plates we sampled during our brunch visit.
For an ultimate Southern treat, order the Fried Green Tomatoes as a starter. These bites are packed with basil, goat cheese grits and roasted red pepper coulis.
Tupelo Honey offers the not-so-ordinary biscuit called the Cathead Biscuits. Each order comes with three GIANT biscuits with housemade blueberry jam & whipped butter. Tip: the jam and honey bottles are available for purchase…. buy one on your way out!
A number of sides are available a-la-carte such as this Cast Iron Mac-N-Cheese… a creamy and cheesy option that’ll pair well with pretty much any entree you order. As for other sides, the All Natural French Fries and the Basil & Butter Green Beans sounds tasty!
For a traditional breakfast item with a Southern twist, try the Lump Blue Crab Benedict. It’s a generous plate filled with two medium poached eggs, buttermilk biscuit, hollandaise, peperonata and potato cracklins (on the side). The pieces of crab melt in your mouth and pair great with a hollandaise that’s not overly creamy. If you like seafood, this dish and the Low Country Shrimp & Grits are highly recommended.

Another breakfast we loved trying out the Chorizo & Avocado Omelet. As you can see, you’ll get a ton of avocado on this one! This gluten-free dish comes with cheddar cheese, salsa, sour cream and served with potato cracklins. There’s a kick to it, thanks to the Chorizo, but the flavor goes with the creamy avocados. We dipped the yummy biscuits in the sauce because we couldn’t get enough of both items!

A sweet finish

A variety of cakes, pies and puddings make up the dessert menu at Tupelo Honey. We sampled Mini Mason Jar Desserts – a perfect small bite of dessert that goes a long way. And, they’re only $3 each! Choose from these flavors: banana pudding (pictured below, right), blackberry & thyme crisp, peanut butter mousse (pictured below, left), & chocolate ganache with salted pretzel crumbles, gooey butter cake with crème fraîche & strawberries.

Happy Hour

Enjoy happy hour specials daily from 4 to 7 p.m. on featured cocktails, wine and beer options, as well as on a variety of $5 snacks, including blackberry habanero pork tacos, bacon pralines and pimento cheese nachos.

Address and hours

Tupelo Honey is located at 6725 Winning Drive, Frisco, Texas. It will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
