Firewheel Town Center, the outdoor shopping area in Garland, turns 10 this year and is celebrating by hosting its first tasting event. There’s nothing I like more than shopping AND food together!

On Saturday, Sept. 26, come to the center for an afternoon festival featuring samples from local restaurants, live music, and activities for all ages. The festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the center’s park, located at 245 Cedar Sage Dr., Garland, TX 75040.

A $20 wristband will get you 10 taste tickets, and guests can also purchase two wristbands for $35. Beer and wine will be available for an additional purchase at select restaurant booths. You can purchase wristbands at the Simon Guest Services booth in advance or at the event.

The event will also give back to the Garland community by giving away one $500 gift card donation to a local charity. The restaurants at the event will each select a charity, and every taste ticket collected by the restaurant booths will be considered a “vote” for their chosen nonprofit. At the end of the event, all tickets will be counted and the winning charity will receive a $500 Simon Gift card donation from Firewheel Town Center on behalf of their restaurant partner.

From 1 to 3 p.m., I’ll be judging a food competition at the event, so come by and say hi! 🙂
