April’s Farm Shed Dinner at the Dallas Farmers Market hit all the right notes, including a perfect Texas evening for dining all fresco.

The team @tresdallas – Chef Chef Mike Kelley and Tia Christopher – are both talented and charming.

And the food…In a city where food events are almost too ubiquitous, the Farm Shed Dinners stand apart. I always wonder why they don’t sell out faster when I think they’re the best value in an overly-crowded food event scene.

The menu included Asparagus “tartare” with a Beet Cured Quail Egg; Rabbit Mezalunna with a Smoked Tomato Jam; Lamb Leg with a one-of-a-kind Hominy Spätzle; a steak course; and a dessert I couldn’t get enough of – Granny Ennis’ Divinity with a berry compote and Texas pecans.

Add to that the setting in the Dallas Farmers Market Shed and communal dining with some great folks, and you’ve got a foodie event that I’d argue rivals any in Dallas.

Events happen monthly. Book one at dfmfarmshed.com.
