Southlake recently welcomed Another Broken Egg Cafe off Southlake Blvd., which is the first one in all of Texas! The cafe is open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers an array of breakfast items, many of which are influenced from Tex-Mex and Louisiana style meals with a twist. Guests can enjoy indoor seating, including a full bar and several large TVs, as well as spacious patio seating.
I started by meal with the Baked Brie Delight — shown below. (Anything brie captures my attention!).The portions at the cafe are huge, so appetizers are definitely shareable. Other apps to consider trying are the City Grits with smoked Gouda cheese and the popular Fried Green Tomatoes. (See what I mean about the twist??) 🙂
The full bar offers tasty brunch drinks to pair with your meal. You can order mimosas, bellinis, bloody mary drinks and more.

In the mood for some coffee and chocolate mixes? You’re in luck here. Kick back and relax with the Chocolate Dream (with Frangelico, Godiva & Coffee), among other energetic choices.
The cafe’s menu offers a large variety of options for breakfast and lunch. Just the Signature Benedicts comes in six different variations, and there’s 11 types of Egg Straordinary Omelettes. I also recommend trying out the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and the Banana Foster (pictured below). This is one waffle you won’t forget! It’s sweet and savory (thanks to the classic NOLA style syrup), and it’s topped with bananas, pecans and whipped cream.
Here’s a Tex-Mex option that’s worth checking out too. The Lafitte’s Tortilla is stuffed with scrambled eggs, breakfast chorizo, black beans, onions, wrapped in an herb tortilla, topped with salsa & Cheddar-Jack, served with guacamole, sour cream sides, seasoned country potatoes. You may want to ask for a to-go box! It reminded me of a tasty breakfast burrito but of course, a pretty big one.
I’m a big fan of salmon on bagels for breakfast, so this hearty entree was a no brainer for me to select. Here you have the Smoked Salmon Benny that comes on a toasted bagel with whipped cream cheese, smoked salmon, two poached eggs (on the very top), garnished with diced red onions, capers and green onions.
There are plenty of lighter options to choose from too, such as huge salads, house-roasted Granola, Fruit & Quinoa and the ever-popular egg white Skinny Omelette.
If you’re in the mood for more American style food, you can grab a wholesome burger, sandwich or a wrap. There is truly someone for everyone here at the cafe!
Another Broken Egg is is located at 410 W. Southlake Blvd., Ste. 160. The brand’s owner, Double R Restaurant Group, plans to open additional stores throughout Texas, so be on the lookout!
