Love Greek food and culture? Visit the 56th annual Greek Food Festival of Dallas this weekend (Sept. 28-30, 2012) to experience the Greek heritage and delve into some tasty traditional foods.

Lots of activities are planned including live music, dancing, cooking demos and shopping at the marketplace. No passport needed!

Here are some mouth-watering foods to expect at the festival this year:

Main Dishes

You can order the “Festival Feast” dish which offers a mix of traditional entrees and sides: Chicken Oreganato, Keftethes (Greek meatballs), Spanakopita (spinach in filo), Tiropita (cheese in filo), perfect rice pilaf, and a Greek salad with feta, olives and pita bread.

Additional meals include Greek Sausage (or Loukaniko), Chicken Souvlaki, and Pork Souvlaki, Gyros, Dolmas (herbed rice & beef rolled in a grape leaf), Spanakopita, Greek Fries and Tiropita, (spinach and cheese tucked into filo and baked to a turn.)

Hot Drinks & Desserts

Greek coffee, Frappes, Loukoumades (Greek-style honey balls), Baklava and Baklava Sundaes

Beverage Bar

Greek wine and beer

Friday, September 28 — 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday, September 29 — 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday, September 30 — 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
