Welcome to Turkish Cafe Lounge – a restautant offering gourmet Middle Eastern food, hookah, live music and entertainment in Plano. Located at 8412 Preston Rd., the restaurant is near Stonebriar Mall and other shopping areas of Plano/Frisco. If you’re looking to try something new, Turkish Cafe is the place to be!

We were invited to attend an Arabian Nights party at the restaurant for a night full of amazing food, belly dancers and a DJ, a fashion show and more fun. Take a look at the highlights below!

Drinks

The night began with refreshing beverages including wine and beer imported from Turkey. Guests can also enjoy a selection of beers, wines and bubbles from all over the world, as well as specialty cocktails including a Turkish Margarita with pear, kiwi and melon flavors.

Appetizers

To begin our meal, the wait staff served up generous appetizers including (from top to bottom below): cucumber and tomato salad, eggplant and baked tomatoes, baba ghanoush, hummus and pita bread and dolma (stuffed grape leaves). The flavors in each appetizer made it hard to choose just one favorite plate! These traditional starters are perfect for sharing with a group and definitely whet your appetite for the entrees to come.

Entrees

From gyros to kebabs, Turkish Cafe offers a feast when it comes to authentic Middle Eastern meals. If you’re into skewers, you will love the options here. The meat is tender and bursting with flavor. Each plate comes with rice and grilled veggies, and others come with lavash bread and Greek-style yogurt.

Dessert

It’s not a typical Mediterranean meal without baklava! Enjoy this crunchy and sweet dessert, or other options like Turkish Rice Pudding, Turkish Flan, a fruit plate and more. Pair your dessert with traditional hot tea in the larger-than-life tea pot or Arabic coffee.

Entertainment

The Arabian Nights party continued with a local DJ spinning tunes, a fashion show with ladies in their best belly dancing costumes and, of course, actual belly dancing! We enjoyed the show on the expansive outdoor patio, along with some hookah action. If you come to Turkish Cafe on Friday and Saturday nights, there’s a $10 cover and all shows are included with the entrance fee. Get ready to dance the night away!
