I was recently invited to dine at the newly-opened Estilo Gaúcho Brazilian Steakhouse in Frisco. This elegant restaurant is located conveniently in front of Stonebriar Mall right off 121 North and Preston Road.
I started off my dinner by visiting the abundant salad bar. There were a variety of fresh items including Brazilian veggies, deli meats, (the smoked salmon was my favorite!), chicken salad and imported cheeses. The staff brought a plate of crunchy potato wedges, Brazilian-style bananas and delicious bread to my table as appetizers. I didnt want to eat too much before dinner, so I sampled a little bit of everything! I was impressed with the items so far and was excited to move on the next course.
Next up came the meats. I was presented with a circular card that was green on one side and red on the other. The waiter instructed that I flip my card to the green side when I was ready to try some more food and turn it to red when I was currently eating. Estilo Gaúcho offers 15 different types of authentic meats. My favorite ones were the bacon-wrapped chicken breast and the sirloin. The waiters came around to slice the meats directly on my plate, and I kept signaling them to come back with more.
Heres the full list of meats:
- Picanha: Prime cut of the top sirloin, available also with spicy or garlic rub
- Alcatra: Top sirloin, whole
- Costela: Beef ribs
- Fraldinha: Beef bottom sirloin
- Contrafilé: Ribeye
- Filet Mignon: Beef tenderloin, available also wrapped in bacon
- Frango: Chicken breast wrapped in bacon
- Sobrecoxa: Chicken thigh
- Carré: Lamb chops
- Pernil: Leg of lamb
- Lombo: Parmesan encrusted pork loin
- Linguiça: Pork sausage
I concluded my night with a creamy flan paired with a smooth cup of Brazilian coffee. There were additional gourmet desserts on the menu that looked appetizing as well.
I really want to recognize the staff; they were incredibly hospitable and attentive. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant until I got my coat from the check-in desk, the employees were over-the-top friendly and accommodating. I even got to meet the owners who shared their stories of Brazil with me. And yes, we did chat about the World Cup that will be hosted in Brazil next year! So, if youre a lover of culinary meats or want to try an exotic style of food, I definitely recommend dining at Estilo Gaúcho for a fine Southern Brazilian experience. Connect with the restaurant on Facebook for more updates.
