Founded in 1918 by Mexican immigrant, Mike Martinez, El Fenix is renowned as the originator of Tex Mex. As much a part of the Dallas tradition as the State Fair of Texas, generations of family have grown up with El Fenix Mexican restaurants, and continue to do so today. As part of El Fenixs year-long 95th Anniversary celebration, the iconic brand is teaming up with Spirit Airlines, to add some fun with flights to cities (including some in Mexico itself) for 2,000 lucky patrons in the Dallas metroplex.

The first 2000 people who stop by a select El Fenix location on January 28 and 29 will receive 20,000 FREE SPIRIT miles* each “ thats enough for a standard roundtrip award* (with taxes and fees from only $5 per award ticket).

Spirit Airlines, which started service at DFW on May 5, 2011 to just two cities, now flies non-stop from here to more than twenty destinations in the USA and Mexico (plus connections to nearly 50 cities throughout the Americas).  Spirit puts customers first by offering ultra- low fares plus optional services and a low total price.  Were thrilled to give travelers from throughout the North Texas region access to great opportunities to save money on travel with our ultra- low fares and optional add-ons that provide a low total price thats tough to beat, said Spirits Vice President Consumer Marketing Bobby Schroeter.
