This season, the town of Flower Mound welcomed Carvao, a fine dining Brazilian steakhouse. The steakhouse offers a plethora of meats via table service, as well as an extensive salad bar, along with soup and sides. The price for this all-you-can-eat experience can’t be beat compared to competitors! Located off 2499 and the new Lakeside shopping center, Carvao is a must try for those around Flower Mound, Grapevine, near DFW Airport and surrounding cities.

I stopped by for a lunch visit last weekend and kicked off my meal with mimosas (just $5 each) and Brazilian fried bananas that were brought out just right before my meal. Carvao also offers a full wine, beer and liquor menu.

The servers let me know not to eat too much salad and to save room for the main course. I loved their salad bar, so it was hard to stay away! Choices included a variety of cheeses, thin slices of salmon, salami and other meats, fresh veggies and a whole lot of toppings for your salad. There are more than 60 items just at the salad bar!

Now, it was time for #allthemeats! Carvao offers 18 prime cuts of meat at dinner at 15 for lunch. Meats include beef, chicken, beef and lamb. Just flip your Carvao card (pictured below) to the green side when you’re ready for the servers to slice some meats right on your plate. Turn the card over to the red side when you think you have enough to munch on…then flip it back when you’re ready to indulge some more!

Some of the first items I tasted included (clockwise from left to right): bacon-wrapped chicken, chicken with parmesan and beef with garlic. You can ask for a big slice or a small one if you prefer to do a quick taste test.

Your meal also includes access to the soup and sides tables next to the salad bar. I tasted some creamy lobster bisque, which is a perfect inclusion to have at a steakhouse. Guests can choose from the following sides: baked beans, mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. A basket of small puffy bread with melted butter in the middle comes right to your table as you continue your meal.

I saved just a little bit of room for dessert. (I can hardly say no.) My guest and I split a heavenly slice of chocolate cake, along with cups of French-pressed coffee. Seven more desserts are found on the menu including creme brûlée, caramel cheese cake and a cheese cake on fire with Liquor 43.

Private rooms seating 45 and 55 people (or 100 for both rooms combined) are available for private events. The restaurant is open for lunch on Thursday, Friday and Sunday (11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) for only $26.50/person, and just the salad bar is available for $20.50.

Dinner takes place each night of the week for $41.50 before tax, tip, drinks, dessert and what have you. The salad bar-only price remains  the same. Kiddos 5 and under are free. Kids 6-12 are $19.50 (with lunch at $15.50), and seniors get a 15% discount.

Compared to other steakhouses in DFW, this one is a TOTAL DEAL! Come try Carvao for yourself this season, and let us know how you like it.

Carvao is located at 2401 Lakeside Pkwy, Flower Mound, TX 75022.
