Starting March 29, Big Beat Dallas will kick off their grand opening celebration all the way until April 2nd. Big Beat Dallas is an innovative culinary and musical experience with 5 dining destinations and music stages, including the Texas Lottery Plaza. The 5-day grand opening is JAM PACKED with cool and exciting events, like the World’s largest Social Hour with Billy the Kid, complimentary easter bunny photos and candies, and Rancher’s Market (I’m super excited about this). Additionally, an Adult Easter Egg Hunt will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the grand opening weekend beginning at 9 a.m. 15 eggs will be hidden around Big Beat Dallas. 14 of them will include
complimentary appetizer or dessert certificates. One egg will include a $50 Big Beat Dallas gift card. Check out the events page for all of the info– you DO NOT want to miss out!

We were able to check out one of the dining destinations over at Big Beat Dallas called Highway 61 South. With a place that celebrates Texas barbecue and Blues, you can’t go wrong! It’s nostalgic yet inventive when it comes to both the atmosphere and food. They have unique, potent cocktails that pair so well with the delicious barbecue they offer.

Key to the Highway: Knob Creek Rye, Amaro Nonino, fig bitters, apricot liqueur. MY FAVORITE DRINK!

The ultimate must-try dish in my opinion would have to be this Frito Pie. They top the chips with pulled pork, beans, jalapenos, etc. I could eat this all day!

And of course last but not the least, their barbecue is not something you’d want to miss out on. It has great amount of smoke and flavor on their meats that you don’t really get in the Las Colinas area.

Pulled Pork, Brisket, and Hot Links with Mac and Cheese, Cornbread, Coleslaw, and Fries.

Make sure to check out Big Beat Dallas and take part in their grand opening celebration, and let me know what you think of the place! I for one can’t wait to see the Rancher’s Market set up and the live music!
