If you are obsessed with Mediterranean food or want to jazz up your meals, make plans to visit Terra Mediterranean! With several locations in DFW, Terra offers a menu of staple Mediterranean favorites – all created with fresh and flavorful ingredients from that region of the world. The company just opened its newest location at The Shops at Willowbend in Plano, joining the new restaurant district here with Knife, Whistle Britches and more. North Dallasites now get to experience all of the fun at Terra within the beautiful Willowbend mall.

Brothers Jalal Chanaa and Adam Shanaa are the masterminds behind the concept and opened the first Terra location in Dallas in the early 90s. The restaurant has since expanded across DFW and has become a popular destination for Mediterranean cuisine.

Enjoy inventive cocktails like Bourbon to a Tea and Desert Paradise, a pear and vodka drink. Other drinks include various sangrias, beer and wine. Check out their happy hour too during the work week!

We ordered the hummus to kick off our sampling. This popular starter is incredibly delicious and fresh. The hummus is topped with olive oil, small pieces of lamb and pine nuts – not like other hummus plates I’ve seen before! It’s a great starter for the entire table.

My table also ordered the falafel – a classic appetizer in Mediterranean cuisine. These did not disappoint and left me wanting more!

Pictured here is the Vegetarian Moussaka (also available with lamb). This eggplant-based dish reminded me of a lasagna and comes with tomato, onion, garlic, jalapeño and chickpea. If you like the sound of this, I highly recommend this appetizer!

As for entrees, the saffron chicken has become a hot choice among customers. It has the perfect balance of saffron flavor with the rice and chicken. It’s as authentic as it can get!

Another classic option is the kabobs. Choose from chicken (pictured above), beef, salmon, shrimp, kafta or lamb. Each protein comes with saffron rice and steamed veggies.

Roasted chicken, lamb chops and several seafood dishes also make up the menu. Not sure what to try when visiting Terra? Stop by for their lunch buffet any day of the week and enjoy a ton of authentic food for under $20 per person!

This new location is roughly 6,800-square-feet and features two patio areas, upstairs and down, and a large lounge area upstairs that is perfect for a relaxing evening or that can be transformed for all types of events. For more details, visit the Terra website.
