Tropical flavors, bold cocktails, and a view of downtown Dallas that makes you want to stay all night. Service was attentive from start to finish and everything about it felt like a real experience, not just a meal. This is a seasonal pop-up running May 6 through August 2. This is the kind of spot that works for a lunch meeting, date night, or a full family outing. What we ordered: STARTERS: Edamame · Popcorn Scallops · Gyoza MAINS: Bulgogi · Chicken Teriyaki SUSHI: Sunset Roll · Gold California Roll · Tiger Roll The Bulgogi was our personal favorite and honestly held its own against everything else on the table. The all you can eat format means you can try the specialty rolls like the Double Spicy Roll and the 225 Roll without the pressure of committing to one thing. Order, taste, and keep going. This 18‑hole course was designed by Arnold Palmer. It has beautiful fairways & some of the most unique greens in Texas thanks to Diamond Zoysia turf that thrives in the heat & is smooth year‑round. The cart staff kept us happy with breakfast burritos and a couple beers, and the location is perfectly central if your crew is coming from Oklahoma or West Texas. Great for a tournament! @tokyo_shokudo never disappoints!! 🍣🍱 We haven’t @tokyo_shokudo never disappoints!! 🍣🍱 We haven’t hit up one of our surburban favs Tokyo Shokudo in Plano for a while so we went to try their latest seasonal menu, some of which instantly became our new favs. Here are a few new items you have to try: 🐟Yellowtail or Red Snapper Carpaccio 🍚Salmon & Ikura Bowl 🦀Soft Shell Crab Plus we had to add some items off the regular menu, including a delicious mackerel plate, tonkotsu ramen & a beautifully plated sashimi box. Although their sushi bar isn’t as large as some Japanese restaurants, their fish is some of the freshest we’ve tasted. Sourced from @rosewoodranches in Ennis, Texas. We are still thinking about this meal! We love the dining experience at Ramble Room every time we pop in. From the dimlit dining mood inside the beautiful restaurant to the fun patio vibes, there’s no bad spot around. This one surprised us in the best way. Tucked in Collin County, you don’t have to drive to Dallas to find Thai food worth talking about. What we ordered: STARTERS: Egg Rolls · Chicken Satay · Crab Rangoon MAINS: Crab Fried Rice · Tom Yum Noodle Soup with Shrimp · Pad Thai DESSERT: Fried Banana Egg Rolls · Mango Sticky Rice The portions are generous, the service is fast and friendly, and the food came out quick without sacrificing flavor. Our personal favorite was the Tom Yum Noodle Soup with Shrimp. Rich, warming, and exactly what it should be. The richest ramen broth you’ll have outside of Jap The richest ramen broth you’ll have outside of Japan might be in north Texas. 🍜 We tried @kizukiramen at @shopsatlegacyeast in Plano & were so impressed by the whole experience. The restaurant is beautiful, from sake barrels & wood paneling above the bar to street lights lighting the restaurant, bringing the izakaya experience to us. We started with some delicious cocktails (don’t worry, they also have a great sake selection) & some bites from their expansive izakaya menu. You can’t skip the karaage here & we also enjoyed the takoyaki. But the star of the show is Kizuki’s amazing ramen selection, with their unique technique of roasting the pork bones before boiling, resulting in a luxuriously flavorful broth so rich, they offer you a clear broth on the side for free to dilute it if you want to. Their signature is the garlic tonkotsu shoyu, which was delightful, but don’t sleep on some of their other interesting options, including a dry tan tan noodle & a tsukeman, or dipping noodles, which my sister enjoyed very much.
