Normally I’d preface a post like this with a warning that I’m about to talk about a restaurant North of 635. But, if you haven’t see how the Village on the Parkway (DNT & Belt Line) has transformed lately then you are WAY behind. We’d shared Hopdoddys, R.A. Sushi, Verts, and Kenny’s Italian with you that we love in that area. Today we’re talking mexican food!

La Comida Mexican Kitchen & Cocktails, a locally owned and operated location offering authentic Mexican food, recently opened in Addison at Village on the Parkway off Dallas North Tollway. La Comida is based on the principle of giving the people what they want from mexican cuisine. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners of La Comida. Mario & Ivan, two brothers from Mexico bring a great combination of traditional mexican food, Tex-Mex, and cuban flair to their menu.

I have to say, La Comida might have the best patio in N. Dallas / Addison area! We were lucky enough to go on a good weather day (can we stop with this ice already?).

The menu features traditional tex-mex food (think enchiladas, nachos, etc), as well as a variety of fish, chicken and beef plates with great flavor and freshness. If you’re having a hard time deciding what to get they have a long list of tacos including ribeye, brisket, shrimp, street style and more.

La Comida’s signature sauces are not to miss. A few of our favorites were the garlic butter, mango/red onion serrano, avocado crema and jalapeño limon. The sauces per perfectly with any entree! I have ordered the tomatillo sauce on top of several dishes since my first visit.

There’s no shortage of refreshing cocktails and margaritas on the menu! The margaritas are made from all natural ingredients, so no artificial sweeteners and always 100 percent pure agave tequilas. Additional drinks include cosmos, moscow mules, mojitos, sangria and other tropical choices.
