Nearly 70,000 fans of polka, German food and, of course, Spaten and Franziskaner Bier will gather September 20-23, 2012, in Addison, Texas’ spectacular Addison Circle Park.  For 25 years, Addison has celebrated alongside Munich with a festival featuring four days of music, folk dancing, sing-a-longs plus great German food and entertainment — at one of the largest and most authentic Oktoberfest festivals in the world.

“People often ask why our Oktoberfest is in September,” says Barbara Kovacevich, Director of Special Events for the Town of Addison.  “We schedule Addison Oktoberfest to coincide with the opening of the world renowned Oktoberfest celebration in Munich, and we work to make it as authentic as possible.”

This year the famed German polka band, the Munich Evergreens will headline along with Grammy-award winning legends Brave Combo and dozens of authentic German entertainers at the festival, which draws guests from across the Southwest.  Guests will enjoy fun contests such as dachshund races, bier barrel bowling, a German Idol yodeling contest, a German spelling bee and more!  Guests wanting a more intimate experience can register to dine at the Brau Haus, with full service Bavarian dining and an exclusive menu.  Seatings for the $45 package are available Thursday through Saturday.  Or enjoy the Teutonic tradition of kuchen and kaffee at the Oktoberfest’s new bakery!

Make an Oktoberfest weekend of it:  Book an Addison Oktoberfest Hotel Package which includes lodging, event tickets, and an anniversary commemorative stein and Oktoberfest hat pin – but book early, packages are limited.
