Where else can you get some of the best tortas and tacos in Dallas? Well, TorTaco of course! This new concept opened in mid-November in the downtown Dallas Arts District, right across the street from Chase Tower. I stopped by for the VIP party to try out the menu item with fellow bloggers. Take a look!

Drinks

Now before we get to the food, let’s review the drinks. The restaurant is popular for its tequila and mezcal cocktails. They offer a variety of other craft cocktails including the Floyd (pictured below) with gin, mezcal, muddled roasted red bell peppers, lime juice and simple syrup. TortTaco definitely lives up to the expectation of its creative drinks! You’ll also find local brews, a handful of European wines and the Stinky Inky (rum, mezcal, blueberry-strawberry puree, lime juice).

Tortas and tacos and more!

Choose from 10 different torta and taco options. Tortas go for $6 and tacos are $4. You can choose from different types of meat (steak, shrimp, pork, fish and chicken), as well as some veggie options. The Truffle Steak (pictured below) is a must have, and we also enjoyed the Diablo Shrimp (second photo below). Both were ordered as tacos and are pretty big! Unique items worth trying is the Burnt Ends entree with brisket, as well as the Cali Breakfast with eggs and veggies.

Guests can also choose to order the carb-friendly bowls for $8, and there are six options similar to the tortas and tacos.

Additional sides found on the menu include Roasted Crab Dip, Jalapeno Mac & Cheese, small salads and the Creamy Date Dessert with date cake, mascarponse, Texas pecans, and topped with caramel sauce.

Presenting an edgy feel with a biker feel, TorTaco brings a fun atmosphere to Dallas with an affordable, creative menu. Try it out and let us know what you think!

TorTaco is located at 2100 Ross Ave in Dallas.
