Starting in NYC as a food cart, The Halal Guys made its way to food-loving Dallas last summer and was welcomed with open arms (and long lines). Now that they’ve gotten everyone hooked on their famous chicken and rice platters, famous white sauce and sandwiches, a new store in Richardson just opened January 21st with plans for other locations in the near future.

Choose a platter or sandwich with chicken, gyro (beef), combo or falafel. Each comes with rice, pita wedges, lettuce and tomatoes. Then top with your favorite sauce. (I hear the hot sauce is pretty hot so be prepared.) You can get the famous white sauce, hot sauce or BBQ drizzled on top or on the side.

The platters come in small or regular size and the sandwiches are filled with lots of goodies. The restaurant prides themselves on having high-quality, fresh ingredients such as their chicken. Vegetarian? You’re not left out as you can fill a platter or sandwich with tasty falafel and/or fresh veggies.

I tried out the combo and added falafel and hummus. I wanted a taste of all the options in one! The baklava is worth a try if you want a sweet ending to your meal.

Don’t be scared of the long lines! It proves they have fans and it can move pretty quickly.

The Halal Guys in Richardson is located at 746 S Central Expy #120, Richardson, TX 75080. The Dallas store is located at 5444 Lemmon Ave, Dallas, TX 75209.

(Disclaimer: I was invited to a media event to experience the restaurant, and all opinions are my own.)

I'm a desperate housewife, dreamer, foodie, nerd, blogger, entertainer and homecook. I love food! Yes, I take photos with my iPhone of the food I'm about to shove into my mouth whether it's at a restaurant or a homecooked meal. And yes, I share those photos on Facebook. I think people that get annoyed by that are just jealous. That is all.
