So & So’s, a relatively new restaurant and bar located on McKinney Ave., offers “something for everyone” and we couldn’t agree more. The place serves casual New American dishes with an upscale feel.

You’ll walk across the large patio before stepping inside the restaurant. It was a little too warm to take my dinner outdoors the other night, so I bet I’ll be back for that experience this fall. (I’m all about the patio dining!)

My guest and I began our meal with the roasted avocados and the most earthy hummus we’ve ever had. The fresh avocados came drizzled with a tangy lime juice and a side of chips. I LOVE avocados, so I took my spoon and dug right in.

Now, the hummus isn’t your typical grocery store product. This one was rich in herby flavors. I grabbed some more chips and a couple slices of pita bread to enjoy this appetizer.

As for the main meal, my guest and I undoubtedly chose the gourmet pizza. We ordered the chicken with mushroom and rugula, as well as the Margarita pizza. The dishes definitely satisfied our pizza cravings. I also noticed a few other yummy items on the menu including chicken dumplings, a grilled chicken with smoked tomatoes and asparagus and the red snapper called “Fish Dish.” Don’t forget to pair your meal with one of the many beers on tap, a craft cocktail, wine, or, you know, shots. 🙂

We learned the kitchen closes daily at midnight, but the pizzas are offered until 2 a.m. So & So’s is prepared to serve you hot and ready pizza in the late hours of the night!

We also learned guests can enjoy live country music around 9 p.m. every Wednesday, and Mondays are industry nights featuring 106.1 KISS-FM’s Billy the Kid spinning tunes. We hear the rest of the week is pretty hoppin’ too. The restaurant now offers brunch on the weekends, offering guests another reason to pop in during the week. Props to the So & So’s team and Executive Chef Nick Amoriello for giving Dallasites another reason to enjoy Uptown!

So & So’s is open daily and is located at 3309 McKinney Ave., Dallas. Cheers!

(I was compensated for my dinner, and all thoughts are my own. You can bet I’ll be back for another round of pizza very soon!)
