Sea Breeze Fish Market & Grill is beginning to host a monthly cooking classes featuring both common and exotic seafood.
“This is something we have always wanted to do, we have just never had the time or the space in the past to pull it off,” said Rick Oruch, the Sea Breeze fish specialist. “The classes are fun. Everybody wants to learn.”
The first class will be on Sunday, February 19 from 3-4:30. Guests will learn how to prepare four great dishes, and then will sample those dishes along with wine! The class will include recipes for mussels, scallops, sole, and redfish. Class size is limited – $35/person. Classes will continue monthly!
“We just want people to learn how to cook fish,” Oruch said. “A lot of people are afraid of seafood because they probably not raised on it unless they grew up on the coast. Seafood is easy to cook. We are going to introduce very simple recipes with a quality product that people can do at home.”
Mark Alterman, who opened Sea Breeze in 2007, said with top-quality ingredients, there is no need to add a lot of spices and sauces. Alterman said as long as the fish is not overcooked, a simple relish that compliment the natural flavor is the key.
