Some local foodies had the privilege of getting a sneak peek at the upcoming Chamberlain’s Brau Haus, complete with Paulaner beer pairing, that will be the VIP dining experience at the 2013 Addison Oktoberfest (September 19-22).

For $49/person, you’ll receive a ticket to the event, a souvenir stein, $25 gift card to Chamberlain’s AND enjoy an upscale three-course Bavarian feast with Paulaner pairings. Reservations are required and are available from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 and Friday, Sept. 20, and 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Now, on to the fantastic food you’ll be having at the Brau Haus. The first course is an appetizer tasting with House-Smoked Salmon on a Potato Cake with Chive Creme (my favorite of the three); Cucumber, Tomato and Dill Salad; and Black Forest Ham and Camembert on Pumpernickel with a Lingonberry Sauce.

oktoberfest 2The entree tasting has a Braised Pork with Paulaner Jus and Roasted Onion Potatoes (the Germans love their potatoes and these are quite tasty) and a Trio of Sausages (Bratwurst, Pork and Veal) with Braised Red Cabbage and Mustard Seed Sauce. While all the entree items were delicious, the traditional bratwurst and beer pairing really got you into the Oktoberfest spirit.

And if you still have room after all that, the desert is a Cinnamon Apple Strudel with Salted Caramel Sauce.
oktobefest 3In addition to the Chamberlain’s Brau Haus, this year the SportsHalle (inside the Conference Center) will be replaced with the all new Draught Haus and will be run by State Fair food king Isaac Rousse. There will also be the Kaffee and Kuchen Haus run by the Polk A Dot Bakery folks. So dust off your lederhosen, grab your dachshund and make plans to attend Addison’s Oktoberfest!
