Just several weeks ago, Carmel Restaurant and Lounge opened in Coppell right off Denton Tap Road. This new establishment offers a variety of Mediterranean fusion cuisine and American food. Inspired by California and Israeli cuisines, the restaurant is named after the Carmel Mountains, a coastal mountain range in Israel. The menus showcase the flavorful fare from each region. This non-chain, family-owned restaurant is definitely worth visiting especially if you’re looking to get your Mediterranean fix!

I stopped by for lunch and met the head chef, Sammy Marshi, and his son (and owner) Alec Marshi. The story of their family business and cooking experience is delightful and inspiring to hear.

Expect an elegant and family-friendly ambiance when visiting Carmel Restaurant and Lounge. The restaurant spans more than 3,000 square feet of interior and also includes a large outdoor patio, indoor and outdoor fireplaces and private dining room. And of course, the wait staff and management are hospitable in every way.

The dinner menu offers many more options “from the land” and “from the sea” as the management says. From skewers to earthy hummus, rib eye and falafel (just to mention a few), guests will surely enjoy the Mediterranean-inpisred meals and sharable appetizers. If you’re looking for a bite from the sea, the menu includes selections such as fresh sea bass, lobster, salmon are more.
